Is the Mediterranean Diet as Healthy as First Believed?

For decades, the Mediterranean diet has been the diet of choice for those who want a healthy lifestyle. It calls for meals rich with vegetables, fruits, fish, nuts and olive oil. It was supposed to help you lose weight and lower the risk of heart attacks and strokes. But the New England Journal of Medicine is now saying it's not so sure the Mediterranean diet works as well as first thought. The prestigious publication is now retracting its original findings as flawed.
