    Mom Accused of Deepfaking Cheerleader Vaping Sees Charge Dropped

    A Pennsylvania mom’s arrest last March made national headlines when it was learned that she was accused of creating deep fake videos to trash her daughter’s rivals on the cheerleading squad. One video appeared to show a cheerleader vaping, but prosecutors initially called it a deep fake. Prosecutors now say they have no evidence that Raffaela Spone faked any of the videos and dropped that charge. Spone still faces a criminal trial for harassment over texts she allegedly sent parents.
