New Mom Gets Heart Transplant

When Kristin King should have been adjusting to life as a new mom, she was unknowingly dealing with life threatening health problems. At just 4 months postpartum, King's heart was failing. King was experiencing symptoms of a rare condition, peripartum cardiomyopathy. Doctors say it occurs in the last month of pregnancy or within a few months of delivery. She underwent a successful 11-hour heart transplant surgery.
