Mont Blanc, Tallest Mountain in France, Has Shrunk by 6 and 1/2 Feet

The tallest mountain in France is shrinking. Every two years since 2001, a team of climate and glaciology experts along with other scientists have been measuring the peak of Mont Blanc. This September, about 20 people scaled the mountain and spent several days taking measurements. Their findings show Mont Blanc is now 15,766.37 feet high. That’s about six-and-a-half feet shorter than in 2021. The geographical experts say they are gathering data now for future generations to use.
