NASA Says Planetary Defense Mission Was a Success
The results are in from the test mission to potentially save humanity. NASA was excited when its Double Asteroid Redirection Test, or DART, mission successfully crashed a satellite into an asteroid seven million miles away from Earth. They say the impact, while small in the universe, was huge for the planet because it changed the asteroid’s trajectory. Scientists say they exceeded expectations by reducing the orbit by 32 minutes.
