New Mexico Police Officers Will Not Face Charges in Fatal Wrong-House Shooting

New Mexico police officers will not face charges for fatally shooting a homeowner after they went to the wrong house. According to the state attorney general, "although the officers erroneously approached the wrong house," their actions were "reasonable, appropriate and consistent with generally accepted police practices." The family of the homeowner, Robert Dotson, has filed a civil lawsuit against the police department.
