New Whale Species Believe to Have Been Spotted Off Mexican Pacific Coast

A type of beaked whale could be the newest species, according to the Sea Shepherd’s Conservation Society. Researchers were on a mission to find the Perrin’s beaked whale in the Mexican Pacific Coast when they spotted two whales that looked and sounded different from the approximately 23 other known species. Water samples were taken and researchers say if it’s confirmed to be a new species, it could inspire future generations of scientists to go out and discover. Inside Edition Digital has more.
