Coney Island is usually a hot spot destination for residents of New York City and beyond, with its famous boardwalk and historic Luna Park, home of the Cyclone roller coaster. But it’s been over a year since anyone set foot on a ride. The pandemic forced owners Tracee and Alessandro Zamperla to keep the park shut through the summer after it closed down for the season last October. The couple say they’re eager to reopen, and have spent hundreds of thousands on COVID-19 safety precautions.
