North Carolina Protesters Hit With Tear Gas as Police Block Escape

Protests continued in hundreds of cities across the country Tuesday as demonstrators demanded the three other officers involved in the death of George Floyd be charged. Most were peaceful, but scenes of police escalation played out in many cities, causing protesters to scramble for safety. In Charlotte, protesters found themselves trapped by police who fired tear gas from both ends of the street, blocking their escape. Police said they had earlier been pelted with rocks and bottles.
