NYPD Adding Robots to Its Force Raises Ethical Concerns

The NYPD recently announced that it would be adding an “autonomous security robot” and “digidog robot” to its force. The use of so-called "Robocops" raises a host of ethical questions and issues. Ryan Jenkins teaches philosophy at Cal Poly, and specializes in the ethics of emerging technologies. He told Inside Edition Digital, “I think that if we're looking for a line to draw, one of the most natural and the most troubling uses of these technologies would be to use force.”
