Off-Duty Cop Who Saved Parkland Student Takes the Stand
The trial of disgraced deputy Scot Peterson, who is accused of failing to confront the gunman during the Parkland high school massacre, continued. Police Sergeant Jeffrey Heinrich took the stand to testify. He was off-duty doing volunteer work on campus when he heard shots and saw students fleeing. Although Heinrich was unarmed, he bravely ran toward the sound of gunshots and carried a wounded student to safety.
