Ohio Dad Pleads Guilty to Violating Gun Safety Law After Child Fires Gun at Home

When these kids found a gun and fired a shot, they got in trouble with their parents and one parent got in trouble with the law. The city attorney of Columbus, Ohio, says Matthew Rivas pleaded guilty to two counts of negligent storage of a firearm and one count of child endangerment. He’s the first person to be charged under the city’s new gun safety ordinances, which include storing firearms at home in a way that minors can’t access them.
