Police Carry Climate Protesters Out of Town to Make Way for Coal Mine Expansion

German police are reportedly succeeding in evicting hundreds of climate activists who have taken up residence in an abandoned town to prevent the expansion of a coal mine. The village of Lützerath has been occupied by protestors for more than two years now. They’ve reportedly been squatting in homes and buildings left behind by former residents who were relocated to make way for the mine project. They call their movement Lützi Stays.
