Elderly People Rescued From Fire in Nursing Home

Police barely beat the clock to save elderly residents of an Oregon nursing home. First responders from the St. Helen’s Police Department ran towards the flames trying to remove residents from danger. Officers went room to room visiting the outward-facing windows of each resident. The seniors were pulled out of their rooms to safety. Fire inspectors say the blaze was accidental, likely caused by oxygen cylinders stored in one of the apartments.
