The dress was favored to sell for up to $2 million, but the highest bid only reached $975,000. Auctioneers decided that price didn’t meet their reserve and decided not to sell. A "Star Wars" crew member took the dress after filming but left it crumpled in his attic for decades. The dress took about 10 months to be restored to its glory.
