Russian Opposition Leader Alexey Navalny Laid to Rest in Moscow Cemetery

Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny was laid to rest on Friday. Crowds of supporters gathered around the Moscow church where the funeral service was held. They chanted his name – both a goodbye and rallying cry. Navalny had been a vocal opponent of Russian president Vladimir Putin. His views and activism landed him in a Siberian prison in 2021. And it was at that prison that Navalny died on February 16. An official cause of death has not been announced.
