Santa Barbara Statue Flies Over Rieti, Italy After COVID-19 Cancels Celebration

An Italian city made some changes to an annual celebration to keep its residents safe. The Feast of Santa Barbara looked a little different in Rieti this year as a statue of the region's patron saint took to the sky. COVID-19 prevented any type of gathering for this year, so the fire brigade strapped Santa Barbara to a helicopter and flew her over the city to her adoring worshippers.
