Seattle Bakery Shuts Down, Owner Says City Has ‘Given Up’ on Crimestopping

Olga Sagan, the owner of Piroshky-Piroshky bakery in downtown Seattle, is shutting the business down because she says the street it’s located on has become too dirty and dangerous. She blames homeless people setting up encampments where she says she has seen people consuming drugs, having sex and going to the bathroom on the sidewalks outside her shop’s windows. She said she thinks the city has given up on trying to help these people, so she sees no other choice but to close her shop.
