Servants’ Bedroom Unearthed in Ancient Roman Villa in Pompeii

It’s a well-preserved glimpse into how servants lived in old Pompeii. A small bedroom in a Roman villa was discovered, which historians say was almost certainly occupied by slaves. Workers at the site say parts of the room were ruined, most likely taken by illegal diggers, who plundered parts of the site for artifacts. This home was about 2,000 feet outside of the city’s walls.
