Should Investigators Use DNA Websites to Catch Criminals?

While DNA helped investigators close in on Joseph James DeAngelo, the suspected Golden State Killer, Jay Stanley, a senior policy analyst for the ACLU, says police using genealogy websites to solve crimes raises many privacy concerns and there needs to be more transparency. Police made the arrest after matching crime scene DNA to a genetic sample taken from a relative of DeAngelo, who was registered on a genealogy website.
