Snake-Loving Yasin Al-Shukur Lives With 'Large Number' of Serpents in Jordan

Yasin Al-Shukur lives in Jordan, where he has a lot of company of the slithery reptile kind. The 55-year-old cohabits with what’s been described as “a large number” of snakes. He’s done so for over 30 years. Shukur told reporters that Jordan is home to 37 species of snakes, including seven that can be lethal to humans. But the reverse is also true, as humans can be lethal to snakes. In an effort to protect snake-kind, Shukur started a group to encourage others not to kill the animals.
