Sotheby’s Sells Pink Diamond for $26 Million to Anonymous Buyer in Swiss Auction

Sotheby’s auction house recently helped unload a ultra-rare pink diamond, known as “The Spirit of the Rose,” for millions of dollars. The gem is 14.83 carats, and Sotheby’s described the oval stone as “flawless.” Mined in Russia in 2017, the diamond was named for a work performed by the famed Russian ballet dancer, Vaslav Nijinsky. The winning bidder of the Geneva, Switzerland auction was anonymous.
