SpaceX’s 1st Manned Launch Aborted Minutes Before Scheduled Liftoff

May 27, 2020

The first launch of a U.S. manned spacecraft since 2011 was postponed minutes before its scheduled launch Wednesday due to bad weather. The joint venture between SpaceX and NASA will be reattempted on Saturday. Elon Musk is hoping to build on his SpaceX’s string of 62 successful space missions since the launch pad explosion that marred the company in 2016. The veteran astronauts on the mission, Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley have been best friends for 20 years, and are both married to astronauts.
