Students Arrange Backpacks in the Shape of a Heart During Walkouts

Across the USA, students walked out of their classrooms to demand stricter gun laws. More than 3,000 schools participated in the protests. In Littleton, Colorado, 17 minutes of silence were observed at Columbine High School, one minute for each student gunned down in the Florida massacre last month. In Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, backpacks were placed on the football field in a shape of a heart. In Granada Hills, California, students filed onto the football field spelling out the word “Enough!”
