A flamboyance of flamingos -- and yes, that is the collective noun for the pink birds -- flocked to a lake in Kazakhstan. The pink beauties stopped off at Lake Karakol, as they migrated south for the winter. The pit stop was captured by a local drone photographer. The flamboyance was on its way to warming climes in Iran or southern Kazakhstan. The eight-pound omnivores get their bright colors from plant pigments called carotenoids that they consume.
