Super Bowl Fans Encouraged by CDC Not to Cheer to Curb Viral Spread

The CDC is warning fans at Sunday’s Super Bowl Parties: don’t cheer! To avoid turning Super Bowl parties into super spreader events, the CDC says “avoid chanting or cheering. Stomp, clap, or bring hand-held noise makers instead.” This seems unlikely given that many will be watching in their homes with others, or at bars where masks can be removed for eating and drinking. The danger from these parties is real and comes just as new variants of the virus are spreading across the country.
