Syracuse Honors One of Central Park Five With Scholarship Named for Him

Growing up in New York City, Kevin Richardson had dreams of attending Syracuse University. That dream would be interrupted one night in 1989, after a horrific rape took place in Central Park. Richardson was one of five teens wrongfully convicted of the crime. Dubbed the Central Park Five, they were eventually freed in 2002. Now, Richardson is inspiring others, and has been honored with his own scholarship at Syracuse University.
