How the WGA Writers Strike Affected the BET Awards

The WGA writers have been striking for nearly two months, and this happened to coincide with the BET Awards and its celebration of 50 years of hip-hop. The show had no host, and a litany of performers from Lil’ Uzi Vert, to Glorilla and Coi Leray. But the night was for Busta Rhymes, as he tearfully accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award, with a lengthy, heartfelt speech and an electrifying performance.
