The Backstory of Karen Read and John O'Keefe's Lovestory

It was the romance at the center of the sensational Karen Read murder trial. Read first dated Boston cop John O'Keefe after college. She told Nightline they reconnected during the pandemic. By then, O'Keefe was caring for his niece and nephew, orphans after the deaths of their parents. Read says she was impressed that O'Keefe was stepping up for his niece and nephew.
