The Turkey Lady Teaches Kids About Turkeys Ahead of Thanksgiving

A pre-school in Nashville has a very Thanksgiving-themed tradition. She is Laura Turner, known to kids as the Turkey Lady. Around this time of year she shows up to school with an actual live turkey. Turner has been giving this lesson since the 1980s and while she says it’s not as easy for her to get around as it used to be, she will continue to do it as long as she can.
