Softie, a labradoodle who works at Linden Dental Care in Beverly Hills, jumped on patient Nancy Meidel's lap to cuddle her during a procedure. A lab named Annie comforts patients in Colorado and a dog named Piper works at a dental office in Houston. The dogs are trained to follow specific commands. For example, "X-ray" is the dogs' cue to leave the room.
