Therapy Dogs Help Elementary Kids Read Better

A company in southern California is putting dogs to work to help children become more confident, and they don’t need to do a whole lot to get the job done. The therapy dogs are tasked with comforting elementary kids. It’s all part of a “Canine Literacy” program that improves mental health, provides anxiety relief and gives the kids confidence to read better. And parents told KCBS they’ve seen a difference.
