Thousands of Dead Fish Wash Up on Florida Beaches Amid Red Tide

Spring break is underway but if you pick the wrong beach, you may find an uninvited guest. An algae bloom called red tide made thousands of dead fish wash up on some Florida beaches. For local businesses that depend on spring breakers, the red tide could not come at a worse time. Tens of thousands of pounds of dead fish were removed from beaches but in some areas the stench is unbearable. Locals who experienced red tides in the past say they’ve never seen anything like this.
