Trooper Saves 10K Race Runners From Being Mowed Down by Allegedly Drunk Driver

It was a heroic moment for a Florida State Trooper as she risked her life to stop an allegedly drunk driver. As the speeding car careened down the road, Deputy Toni Shuck realized it was going to collide with a group of runners in a 10K race on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. The quick-thinking deputy positioned her vehicle in the path of the speeding car, hoping the driver would see her truck and stop. She told Inside Edition that “it would have been devastating” if the car had reached the bridge.
