    HIV Vaccine Trials Halted Due to Trump Administration Cuts

    Scientists believe they are on the cusp of a vaccine for HIV. Two promising vaccines were set to go to additional trials. But the vials of vaccines are in the freezer due to financial cuts by the Trump administration. The various programs USAID supported around the world have been halted, because of Trump's decision in January to pause all foreign assistance for 90-days. According to statistics published by the U.S. government, 1.2 million people in the United States have HIV.
