US Gun Sales Surge Over Coronavirus and George Floyd Protests Anxieties

The pandemic and the George Floyd protests have contributed to a sharp rise in gun sales in the U.S.  The owner of a gun store in southern California says he’s selling four to five times the number of weapons he usually would. “It started with COVID,” he told KCBS, and sales have only increased with some people’s concerns over the George Floyd protests. The Wall Street Journal reports that stocks in gun manufacturers like Smith & Wesson have jumped 15% this year.
