Violins of Hope Brings Holocaust-Related Instruments to the Public

Avshalom Weinstein and his dad, Amnon, restore German-made violins from the years before and during World War II. Their family, who now live in Israel, was almost wiped out in the Holocaust. In the years after the war, Avshalom’s grandfather began restoring German violins. For many, they carried dark connotations. But this family saw beyond that, and started a program called Violins of Hope. The initiative brings Holocaust-related string instruments to the public.
