Visitors Trek 1,375 Feet Down Mine to Sleep in World’s Deepest Hotel

Hotel check-ins don’t usually require a hard hat and protective gear, but a trip to the Deep Sleep Hotel in Wales requires an adventure. It starts with a 45-minute walk into the mountains, then a trained guide takes you into the depths of the earth. Travelers follow the path of an abandoned slate mine. It takes trekking through water, zip-lining, and squeezing into tight spaces. In about four hours, the travelers have journeyed 1,375 feet underground to the Deep Sleep Hotel.
