Volcanic Rocks From Cumbre Vieja Almost Instantly Boil Water

The Cumbre Vieja volcano in Spain has been active now for more than a week, spewing lava in a manner it has not since 1971. The danger has caused officials to evacuate hundreds of homes in the surrounding area, as the lava melted most of what was in its path. A pair of geologists dipped some of the volcanic rocks into water, showing just how dangerous the remnants can be. However, scientists say the eruptions might be slowing.
