Why Wendy’s Pulled Lettuce From Its Sandwiches in 3 States

At least 37 people were sick and 10 people sent to the hospitals in the Midwest because of E. coli bacteria, likely found in lettuce. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said 22 of the 37 people who were sick self-reported that they had eaten a sandwich at a Wendy’s restaurant. Because of this, Wendy’s says it is “taking the precaution of discarding and replacing the sandwich lettuce at some restaurants in that region.”
