Iconic San Francisco Mall to Close

Downtown San Francisco, California, is being called “zombie city” as hotels and businesses flee, leaving streets deserted. The latest blow is the iconic Westfield San Francisco Centre, located in the heart of downtown. The owners are defaulting on a $558 million mortgage and abandoning the mall. The mall was once the best-performing indoor shopping mall in America. However, rampant crime and the decline of the city's downtown have left this place almost deserted.
