The sci-fi masterpiece ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ turns 50 this year. The film made many predictions about the future. Many people today are celebrating all of the things visionary director Stanley Kubrick got right, but also got wrong. Some say HAL 9000 reminds them of Amazon’s Alexa. The scene of a scientist having a video phone call with his daughter seemed far-fetched to moviegoers in 1968. Skype, Facetime and other applications make it easy today.
