What Happened When College Students Gave Up Their Cellphones for a Week
November 25, 2019
Could you go without your phone for a whole week? That's the question one professor at Adelphi University in New York asked her students. As part of her seminar "Life Unplugged," Donna Freitas' students turned their phones in to the university's public safety department and watched what happened to their social lives, sleep and concentration. Many of the students told WCBS they were pleasantly surprised by how much more present and relaxed they felt after. Freitas also gave up her phone.
