What is killing the elephants in Africa? More than 300 elephants have been found dead in Botswana in recent months but experts don’t know how they died. The deaths were first reported in May when 12 elephants were found dead across two villages in the country’s north territory. Poaching has been ruled out because their tusks haven’t been touched.
