Before conquering the charts in America, as well as the hearts of teenage girls, the Backstreet Boys were superstars in Europe, gaining more popularity than British acts like Oasis and the Spice Girls. In 1997, while they were relatively unknown, Inside Edition caught up with the boy band. They spoke about how they formed and why they took their music to Europe first. They also performed in front of a room full of fans at the now-defunct Motown Cafe.
