Why Summer Colds Are Especially Severe This Year

If you’ve caught a cold this summer that you just can’t seem to shake, you’re not alone. Chen Kirshenbaum has been trying to get over a bad cold for three weeks, and even got tested twice for COVID-19 to make sure she hadn’t contracted the virus. Dr. Roshini Raj explained why there’s an explosion of cold cases. She says we’ve spent so much time inside and wearing masks for the last year that our immune system isn’t as primed as it normally would be against strains of cold that are circulating.
