Why Woman Played Her Violin as Surgeons Removed a Brain Tumor

A musician was asked to play the violin while doctors performed surgery on her brain. Dagmar Turner, of England, played the Gershwin classic “Summertime” in the operating room as surgeons removed a brain tumor. Playing the instrument helped doctors prevent any unnecessary damage to her motor skills. The operation was reportedly a success.
