Woman Fears Her Alleged Abuser Will Be Out of Jail on Bail Early Due to COVID-19

One woman named Melissa says her ex Corey Ater is a “textbook abuser” who broke into her house at night and tortured her for 16 hours until she finally escaped. Corey pleaded not guilty to domestic violence, but Melissa fears that due to COVID-19, he’ll be released from jail early as he awaits trial. She is now in hiding. Experts say the isolation and financial strain of the pandemic is affecting survivors of domestic violence like never before.
