Explorers have found the world’s deepest shipwreck. The USS Samuel B. Roberts, nicknamed the Sammy B, was a WWII destroyer escort. In October 1944, during the Battle of Samar, the USS Samuel B. Roberts was hit by a torpedo and sank. An expedition team spent eight days diving into the ocean near the Philippines searching for this 78-year-old war grave. They found it 22,916-feet, or about 4.3 miles, down.
