David Ayres was used to taking to the ice during hockey games only to clean while driving a Zamboni. But on Saturday, like a Hollywood movie, Ayres was told to suit up and play goalie for the Carolina Hurricanes. It happened after both the team's goalie and back-up goalie were injured during the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. On the ice, Ayres gave up two goals on the first two shots. Then his nerves settled and he made eight straight saves.
